Does the University have a text messaging system?

Yes. The University has established the MessageMe emergency notification system to contact students, faculty, and staff via text in the event of a life-threatening, campus-wide emergency. This system complements other emergency communications capabilities the University has in place, which include emergency websites, broadcast emails, phone conference bridges, and voice messaging systems.

All active faculty, staff, students, and other community members who are likely to be on campus are automatically enrolled in MessageMe. However, Harvard community members should update their contact preferences in MessageMe annually to ensure that their information is complete and up to date.
