The HUPD urges parents and caregivers to ensure their child safety seats are properly installed.
The Harvard University Police Department offers child passenger safety (CPS) seat checks free of charge to all University community members.
During the seat check, a trained CPS technician will inspect your vehicle to ensure that your child is transported safely and in compliance with state law. The technician will assist with the proper installation of child safety seats and educate operators on the appropriate manner to safely transport their children.
The Harvard University Police Department is unable to offer replacement seats. It is the responsibility of the owners to ensure that their child’s car seat is a current model and in good condition.
To schedule an appointment, please email cpstech@hupd.harvard.edu. Seat checks take approximately 30 minutes and will be conducted on an appointment only basis as well as annual coordinated events.
