The Harvard University Police Department offers, free of charge to all University community members, child passenger safety (CPS) seat checkups.
At the checkup, an officer trained as a CPS technician will inspect your vehicle to ensure that your child is being transported safely and in compliance with state law. The officer will assist with the proper installation of child safety seats and also educate adults regarding the proper manner in which to safely transport their children.
Checkups will be conducted on an appointment only basis as well as annual coordinated events and they take approximately 30 minutes.
The Harvard University Police Department is unable to offer replacement seats. It is the responsibility of the owners to ensure that their child’s car seat is a current model and in good condition.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the HUPD will not be offering Child Passenger Safety Seat Checkups at this time.
