Unarmed Robbery
1700 block of Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge

On Friday, March 11, 2011, at approximately 1:50 PM two male graduate students reported to the Harvard University Police Department that they were the victims of an unarmed robbery while walking on the 1700 block of Massachusetts Avenue at 1:45 PM. The victims stated they were approached from behind by two unknown males who demanded their money and cell phones stating they had a weapon. No weapon was displayed at any time. On Friday, August 19, 2011, at approximately 6:20 AM a male graduate student reported to the Harvard University Police Department that he was the victim of an unarmed robbery while walking down Buckingham Street, at the corner of Healey Street at 5:15 AM. The victim stated he was approached from behind by two unknown males. One of the suspects punched the victim, threw them to the ground and stole their iPad. The victim was not injured during the incident and the offenders fled up Healey Street.

Message from the Massachusetts State Police and the Boston Police Departments
The Massachusetts State Police held a press conference yesterday to warn the public about a string of attacks against woman near the Esplanade on the Charles River. A composite picture of the suspect was released as well. Both the Massachusetts State Police and Boston Police encouraged local colleges and universities to alert their students (especially new students to the area), faculty, and staff to take appropriate precautions...

Earlier today, the Harvard University Police Department was informed by the Cambridge Police Department that there were two separate robberies on Sunday, October 16, 2011 involving two University affiliated persons.

The first incident involved a male graduate student who was robbed by two males at the intersection of Harvard and Trowbridge Streets at 12:30 AM. The unidentified males stole both the victim’s cell phone and wallet during the robbery.
