Community Outreach

Community outreach is an integral component and guiding principle of the HUPD's commitment to community-oriented problem solving by providing students, faculty, and staff direction and steps they can take to maintain their own safety and the security of others.

Each year representatives from the Department conduct more than 80 safety talks to students, faculty, and staff. The goal of the talks is to provide the community with an overview of what they need to do to protect themselves to minimize their chances of becoming a victim and to familiarize them with the Department and the many services that we offer. If your department, student group, or school wants an officer to come and give a safety talk, please contact the Department's Community Outreach Team in order to arrange a talk.
