HUPD Teams

The Department is divided into six geographically-based teams (Yard, North Yard, Radcliffe, Allston-Watertown, River, and Longwood). Because they have small areas of responsibility, officers have the ability to build relationships with the community and become familiar with problems specific to that area through increased communication and interactions.

Consistent with its community policing philosophy – to be accessible to the community and to enable police officers to remain in their areas as much as possible – the HUPD has created at least one substation for each team. Community members can register their laptops or bicycles, file a police report, or talk to an officer about any safety issues that they have. Each substation posts its own hours of operation.

Allston Team [contact]
The Allston-Watertown team covers the Business School, athletic facilities, and all property in Watertown. The substation is located on the ground floor of 114 Western Avenue (the old WGBH building).
